What Type of Sword to Buy(right forum?)
ok, didn't know which forum to post in for sure, but i am trying to decide between buying a fellblade or an icy dragon sword. i have 10 swordsmanship currently so that's not a problem. i have about 40k so i can afford an IDS for sure. I would definitely want the 15^50 damage mod(standard on IDS), or at least 13^50 on a fellblade. my main concern: i love the look of the IDS and it's cheaper, but i can only add one mod b/c of the permanent icy damage mod right? what do u guys think? i am sure that it will not be the last sword i ever purchase, but as it will take me awhile to get more cash for a better sword whichever one i choose will be my main sword for a good while. please give me opinions.
*edit* good point about elemental damage, though i love the look of the sword. i know that crafter sword from droks would be functional and cheaper, but i want a sweet look too, and i'm bored with shadow blades

Belongs in Q&A Forum.
I think using Droknar's crafter sword with inherent 15>50 is better than IDS, btw.

Yes, it's true you cannot replace the Icy hilt on the IDS. An IDS would obviously be considerably cheaper, about 15k. I personally love the IDS, since it works wonderfully if you have a Necromancer using Spinal Shivers which interrupts the target foe every time they are hit with cold damage. With both the IDS and the Necro's Villnar's Staff swinging away at the target, it will have a lot of difficulty getting any skill off.
The IDS is very affordable, and it performs wonderfully. The only drawback is that the cold damage can come to be a pain since Elemental damage is reduced considerably against many PvE foes. So physical damage is a huge help in usual situations.

the crafter swords are the cheapest you can get and have 15^50 (collectors have 15 while enchanted/stanced)
a fellblade is really just eyecandy
I would suggest to invest into what you need first. Once you have decent equipment, you can start thinking about being pretty.

A less appealing option perhaps but - get an IDS farming group going, or solo it until you get a sword for free, then use your earnings to buy the fellblade. A good warrior has a weapon for nearly every situation. =)

you can pick up a 13^50 Fellblade for around 20k.
well that's how much I paid for mine. the ids would be
the cheaper route. Alot of peeps farm ids's. I picked one
up last month for 8k. Just look around in towns that most
every person sells their goods at.

Removing mods is a crapshoot anyway, but you're right.
I say get the collector's gear first... then go after the better looking stuff like fellblades etc.
It's the same with armor... you should get your Drok's and then when you can afford better go for the upgrade.
